Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
DBT combines cognitive strategies with mindfulness, emotional regulation, and distress tolerance. It’s especially helpful for:
• Trauma-related disorders: Managing emotional flashbacks and grounding techniques
• Substance abuse: Building distress tolerance and reducing impulsivity
• Bipolar and mood disorders: Stabilizing mood and improving interpersonal effectiveness
• Relationship issues and social anxiety: Enhancing communication, emotional regulation, and boundary-setting

Initial Assessment
The therapist and client start with an initial assessment session where they get to know each other. The therapist asks questions to understand the client's presenting concerns, personal history, current life circumstances, and goals for therapy. This helps in establishing a therapeutic alliance and creating a treatment plan tailored to the client's needs.
