Jagdeep Chadha, LPC

Founder of Being Counseling

Jagdeep Chadha, LPC

I’m a Psychotherapist/Licensed Professional Counselor and Founder of Being Counseling. I’ve been working in the counseling field for over 23 years. I spent the first 17 years of my career working in the Higher Education setting ascending to Executive Director or Student Affairs at University of Houston, College of Technology, overseeing student services, career counseling, academic advising, recruitment, scholarship awards, among other services for the College. After several years of gaining leadership and management skills, in 2020 I decided to transition into Private Practice and committed myself to helping people learn to cope, overcome and ultimately transcend mental health issues. I earned a dual master’s degree (M.A. & Ed.M) from Columbia University, Teachers College in Psychological Counseling.

I focus on helping clients develop self-compassion and empowerment by building emotional resiliency, reshaping life narrative, and gaining mastery over thoughts, feelings, emotions, behaviors and life experiences. I believe each individual is capable of healing psychological wounds, finding effortless action, stillness in activity and peace within volatility. I’m passionate about the integration of ancient eastern wisdom/metaphysics of yoga, tao and zen into modern western psychotherapy as a tool for deeper understanding of the self and healing, alleviating stress, anxiety and depression. I’m interested in participating in workshops, speaking engagements, webinars and podcasts.

I provide psychotherapy services to adults, and couples treating anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma related disorders, ADHD, addictions, behavioral disorders, life transition, grief, loss, caregiver burnout, and career planning.

I use a variety evidence based therapeutic modalities which include psychoanalysis/psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectic behavioral therapy (DBT), existential therapy, guided meditation, breath work and hypnotherapy. Drawing on these approaches we’ll create a customized treatment plan to serve your therapeutic goals.

Many struggle to access mental health support due to cultural, societal, or personal barriers. They may feel misunderstood, hesitant to seek help, or uncertain about how to navigate their mental health journey. There is a need for a safe, supportive space to explore emotions, gain clarity, and develop tools for healing and growth. Seeking help can be challenging, especially in communities where it is often overlooked or stigmatized. I am deeply committed to making quality mental health care more accessible. No one should have to struggle alone, and I am here to help bridge the gap between you and the support you deserve.

My clinical approach is client-centered, focusing on rapport building. I incorporate CBT, DBT, and positive psychology to help clients navigate challenges and develop effective coping skills. By honoring personal values and experiences, I guide individuals toward meaningful change, empowering them with tools and confidence to create the life they want.

I understand how challenging it can be to take the first step toward therapy, and I commend your courage. I offer a safe, nonjudgmental space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings. If you’re ready to begin, I invite you to reach out for a free 15-minute consultation to see if we’re a good fit for your journey.
