The higher you climb, the fewer people you can be honest with. The pressure compounds, the stakes rise, and the one thing you can’t afford — to look like you’re struggling — becomes the thing you spend the most energy hiding. Executive therapy is private, senior-level psychotherapy for leaders who need to perform under pressure without breaking. At Being Counseling in Houston, you work directly with Jagdeep Chadha, LPC — a clinician who has led at the executive level himself.
What executive therapy is
Executive therapy is psychotherapy built for the reality of high-responsibility leadership. It isn’t coaching — coaching optimizes performance; this addresses the inner life underneath it: the anxiety, the burnout, the isolation, the identity fused to the role. It isn’t a watered-down, once-a-quarter check-in either. It’s real clinical depth, delivered in a format that respects your time, your privacy, and your intelligence.
You bring the pressures you can’t say out loud anywhere else — and we work with them directly.
How I work with executives
I integrate cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), DBT skills, psychodynamic depth, and Eastern contemplative practice. Together they build what high performers actually need: composure under pressure, a clearer boundary between who you are and what you do, and a steadier relationship to the relentless inner voice that drives you. My core principle anchors the work: you cannot control your thoughts, but you can train your inner voice.
That’s the edge. Not managing you into a calmer version of burnout, but changing your relationship to the pressure so it stops running you.
Who I work with
I work with senior leaders and high-functioning professionals in Houston — founders, executives, physicians, attorneys, and the people they answer to. High-functioning burnout. Decision fatigue. The success that arrived without the peace it was supposed to bring. If you hold it together for everyone else and have nowhere to set it down, that’s exactly the work I do.
Why senior-level, why concierge
The concierge format exists for a reason: unhurried sessions, senior-level care from the first minute, and the privacy that leadership demands. No waitlist, no trainee handoff, no rushed slot. For leaders whose time is scarce and whose confidentiality is non-negotiable, the format is the point.
About your therapist
I’m Jagdeep Chadha, LPC — Columbia-trained (Teachers College), with 17 years in higher education, over a decade of it at the Director and Executive Director level (most recently at the University of Houston), and nine years of clinical practice. I understand high-level professional pressure because I’ve lived it — the visibility, the isolation, the cost of holding it together. Sessions are private, unhurried, and senior-level throughout.
Executive therapy in Houston — in person or by telehealth
In-person sessions serve leaders in River Oaks, Memorial, the Heights, Bellaire, and West University, with secure telehealth available across Texas. Care is built around your schedule and your need for discretion.
Common questions about executive therapy
How is this different from executive coaching? Coaching works on performance and goals. Therapy works on the anxiety, burnout, and identity underneath performance — with clinical training a coach doesn’t have.
Is it confidential? Entirely. Sessions are private and protected. Discretion is built into the format.
I don’t have time for weekly therapy. The concierge structure is designed around demanding schedules, in person or by telehealth, at a cadence that fits your life.
Do you take insurance? Being Counseling is a concierge, cash-pay practice, which is what makes the unhurried, senior-level format possible. Insurance-based therapy is available separately through Headway.
